One of the main reasons for me to take Eva's pictures was to make a birth announcement to send to family and friends. How cute did this turn out!

Sweet Little Eva
Eva Elizabeth was less than pleased having me use her for my very first newborn photo shoot! I think she probably sensed my nerves and was annoyed with me trying to prop her up in positions she really didn't like. I did however manage to sneak a few cute ones!
This one is my favorite... she looks so sweet!

Tattoo
One of my favorite things is designing (and getting) tattoos. It is extremely challenging because I try to encompass the entire person, their life and the meaning into the tattoo. This is going to go to the grave with this person, most likely, so it has to look good. It's interesting because even though I design the initial concept, the tattoo artist will still add their personal talent to the design, the tattoo artist easily can make or break a design.
Jeff got tattoo number five this past weekend. He has been itching to get one, and had a gift certificate burning a hole in his pocket. He had the idea but I was the one required to bring it to life. I began working on it Friday evening, we made some adjustments to it on Saturday morning and that night, it was done. Dr. Jacks in Millard has an incredible staff, Jay is the one who did this tattoo, he has amazing talent. At the left, is the initial artwork that was provided to Jay, and obviously, at the right is the final product.
My husband and I are Jimmy Buffet fans, if you look at the time on the watch it is set to 5pm. The globe in the middle of the face represents "somewhere"... No matter where Jeff may be, it's always "5 o'clock somewhere...."
My only problem with tattoos is the addiction. Many people have said before once you get one, you can't stop - so very true... I would love to get another but I haven't found anything I have to have, much less a very desirable spot to put it quite yet. It's a work in progress I suppose... I've got time.

Home Sweet Holy Huge Home....
I had the pleasure of photographing some homes for a friend over the past couple weeks. He owns Bally Castle Homes and had asked me to photograph a few of his houses for website images. I like to think I have a nice house, decent size, plenty of amenities, etc... until I saw some of these. I think my house would fit into the basement of one of them. It took me over an hour to photograph it, it was huge, and goregeous and if it ever goes for sale less than $150K, I will put in an offer. No worries though, it'll never happen, maybe they could sell the master bathroom for that. Seriously. Anyway, take a look at some of these houses, inside and out, they are stunning.

Fourth of July
This Fourth of July was unlike any I can ever remember - - chilly, dreary, misty. My camera seldom saw the light of day with the rain but I did manage to capture one cute picture of Max wearing a patriotic top hat. This weeks assignment on the DPS website is Black and White Portraits so this is my submission.

"Tricks" of the Trade
One of the more fun things I get to do is to play tricks on people. I've had a few opportunities lately to work up some fake documents to "scam" people I know. Two of my favorites are below.
This first one is a letter to my husband and unfortunately, it didn't make it very far. He's too smart and figured it out way to quick, I'll have to try harder next time. He, his brother and a friend went on a weekend trip to Wisconsin a few weeks back. On the way up, my husband was behind the wheel of his brothers RV when a deer decided to embark on a suicide mission. Apparently, the deer stuck his head a little far out in traffic and ended up beheaded by the headlights, there was fur down the side of the RV. My sister-in-law asked me to make up a letter from PETA regarding the "accident". I mailed it to him at their shop a few days later, I thought it looked pretty good, but with too many added details, he figured it out!
This other one is a gift I created for one of the owners of the company I work for. His girlfriend was less than appreciative when he bought her the Fruit of the Month Club membership for Christmas a few years back, he wanted to play a trick on her so she would think she was getting Chicken of the Month Club this past Christmas. Unfortunately, it back-fired on him... she was excited about it! When she opened it, her family began arguing over who got what each month and when she found out it wasn't real, she was a bit angry with him - he just can't win! We even printed out a coupon sheet for her to share with friends and family and opened up a fake email address then emailed her a "welcome to the club" note. This one worked out perfectly.... too perfectly!
Stay tuned for some new images to be added soon. I have pictures of some beautiful houses and an adorable new baby girl I will be introducing!
