It's a small world

This family has become much more to us than friends...

little did we know our families have been friends for many, many years. Turns out the world is smaller than you think, you find friends in places you don't expect and then you hold on to them for dear life because you know they are a good one.

We got a good one here.

Family Times Two

We did a double shot of family this weekend with my husband and I and our two kids plus his brother and wife and their two kids. Things can get a bit tricky when the kids are taller than dad, when I am in the picture too and you have two kids who really have no interest in getting pictures done... not to mention we picked the coldest day possible to do pictures! Thankfully, they turned out just fine and we all look pretty darn good!

Giving Thanks for Family

I have done several sessions with a portion of this family and this time, I got the rest of them involved, too. We have pretty much adopted Amanda, Devin and their girls as a part of our own family... in fact, our kids think their daughters are their cousins!

Truly pleased with the way this family session came out, grateful for the opportunity they gave me and loved watching them all interact... especially the youngest little guy - what a HOOT!

I think this is one of my favorite pictures of the family...
it just looks so cozy and comforting - just like a family should be.

Awesome Fall Family

My first session this fall when the leaves were just beginning to change, unfortunately with the changes, we also had sprinkles and lots of clouds making for a bit of a challenge! This family was amazing, the kids were adorable and everyone was willing to do anything and everything, including offer up their own suggestions - makes for a super fun shoot!

Amanda + Doug = Newlyweds!

Several months ago I was joined with Amanda and Doug for their engagement session. We had a blast and the pictures turned out wonderfully. Amanda asked me to do their wedding photos and while I hesitated (a lot)... I finally decided to give it a shot.

My first "official" wedding - I think I was more nervous than the bride and groom!

Handsome Little Man

This little guy was introduced to me through a mutual acquaintance of his mother. He was so much fun to hang out with on a beautiful spring night. We had a run of rainy weather and had to reschedule multiple times but we finally got a winner! He was the first to play with my new (old) tricycle, and I learned a valuable lesson: Don't take the trike away from a two year old!

I'm Baaaaack!

Geez. I cannot believe it's been FIVE months since I have posted on this blog. Between Halloween and New Years, I lost track of time. The rest of the missing time, well, I have no excuse! I am gearing up for the new year, new images to share and I have a few new things up my sleeve. I am so ready for spring to get here so I can get back out and start shooting again...

This set was taken last fall, my first and only maternity session (so far) and I think they turned out great. There was no preparation, we decided to do the shoot last minute so we scrambled to get hair and clothes assembled as quickly as possible. The shoot was done at the neighborhood park with five kids in tow so we didn't have much time to primp. However, we captured what we needed to capture and, thank goodness, we still had time to swing!
